Mirror Memory By Sailor Morrigan Kikan couldn't sleep. She swung her legs out of her bed, stood up, and walked to the mirror she shared with Usagi. She stared at herself in it, her reddish brown hair, her burgundy eyes, her disheveled expression. Suddenly, the image started changing. Her hair shortened, turning a sea green, and her eyes turned the same color. It was no longer Kikan in the mirror, but Nezumi. "Oh my god....." She rubbed her eyes and checked the mirror again. The image had changed again, and this time it was a memory. A memory from ages back...... "Oneesan, am I beautiful?" A small Nezumi stared up at her older sister with enormous eyes. "Why would you ask that?" "Majesty-oka-san said I am beautiful. She said I am the most beautiful of all her children." At this, the present Kikan felt a twinge of pain in her heart. Of course Nezumi was beautiful. That's why Glen loved her, for her beauty and the way she carried herself, like the princess she was. She waited for the answer her past self gave her, mouthing along the words. "You're as beautiful as Lady Neptune, oneechan." And look at me, thought Kikan. Hair and eyes the color of dried blood, senshi name of a cow goddess, and if I get angry, I could destroy Nezumi, Adrianna, Tori..... or Glen. She sighed. Oh, Glen. It's not fair!!! she thought to herself. She thought this over and over again, until she said it-involuntarily-out loud. "It's not fair!!!!" Usagi woke up. "'S anything wrong, Kikan?" Kikan turned around. "No, everything's fine, Usagi. I just wasn't tired." "'kay...." Usagi fell asleep again. Kikan stared at the memory in the mirror until it faded away. Then she fell down on her bed and cried herself to sleep.
