SENSHI IDENTITY: Sailorequinox, The Senshi of the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes
REAL NAME: Phoebe Shubunno (Name means Phoebe of the Autumnal Equinox)

WEAPONS AND ATTACKS: Sailorequinox is the keeper of the Daisy Wreath of the Equinox.

Vernal Spark: Using her power over Spring, Sailorequinox cries, "Vernal Spark!" and tosses her Daisy Wreath at the target like a frisbee. The wreath lands on the person's head and begins to spin quickly, throwing out sparks. This is symbolic of the spark of spring, which brings nature back to life after the cold winter. The target is unable to see because of the sparks, and anyone who comes close to them will be burned by them. While they are wearing the wreath on their head, the person is taken through a symbolic death and rebirth over and over, like the passage of nature from winter into spring. They feel the agony and anguish of the death of nature, then an overwhelming burst of life, and back again. As it is quite debilitating, the attack renders them helpless until the wreath is removed from their head, or unless they are strong-willed enough to overcome the illusions and take the wreath off themselves.
Autumnal Flames: Sailorequinox spins around once holding the Daisy Wreath to her chest as she says, "Autumnal..." She then points the wreath at the enemy and sparkly yellow-orange powder flies out of the wreath, landing all over the enemy. Equinox then cries, "... Flames!" and the powder bursts into flames. This powder is actually extremely tiny fall leaves in all their beautiful colors; each teeny grain is a leaf. You would almost need a microscope to tell. The basics of this attack were created for me by one of my readers, Sailor Marla.
Calendar Compression: This attack can only be done by Solstice and Equinox together. Because the Equinoxes and Solstices sort of bookend the year, they have a limited amount of power over how fast it moves, by being able to slow down time for everyone but themselves. The two senshi put their hands together, palms flat, then bring them apart. Images symbolic of events that happen during the year magically appear between their hands as they say, "Calendar..." For instance, transparent scenes of families celebrating various holidays might be seen. Then they cry, "...Compression!" and slap their hands together. Everyone else begins to move slowly as Solstice and Equinox are able to move at regular speed. They can certainly use this to their advantage, by attacking someone while they are unable to move quickly enough to defend themselves, or moving someone out of the way of an approaching attack, so on.
Three Fold Law: This attack can only be accomplished by Equinox and Sailorsolstice doing it together. Their Wreaths can absorb energy and throw it at someone, usually back at the enemy. They hold the Wreaths before the flow of power/energy, and the energy is sucked into the petals of the flowers. Then they bring the Wreaths together and white light shines between the petals. Both of them say "Let it be correct and for the good of all people. Three Fold Law!" and a bolt of white light shoots at the target. The target receives the energy at three times the original strength.

TRANSFORMATION: Phoebe's trans phrase is "Equinox Wheel of the Year Power, Make-up!" She transforms with Solstice. The girls put their hands together in front of them, palms flat against each other. When they bring their hands apart, circles of energy form between them, one for Laurie, and one for Phoebe. The circles shine and tranform into two wreaths of flowers--one of daisies, and one of crocus flowers. Laurie takes the wreath of crocus, and Phoebe palms the daisy wreath. They each carefully place their wreaths on their heads; the energy courses down their bodies to transform their clothing into the uniforms of Sailorequinox and Sailorsolstice. Equinox holds her Daisy Wreath before her, peering challengingly through the hole, as does Solstice with her Crocus Wreath.

DESCRIPTION: Hair is coppery brown, and her eyes are magenta. Her hair has one braid which she wraps around the top of her forehead, over her bangs. The fuku of the Sailor Witches is basically the same as the standard fuku, with a few differences--for one, there is no back bow. The bodysuit is a solid color; Equinox's is salmon, as are her gauntlettes and choker. Her skirt, front bow, gloves, and collar are magenta. The stripe on her collar is salmon. She wears saddle shoes and salmon-colored socks. The jewel in her copper tiara, the jewel in her choker, and the middle of her bow are all replaced with a copper pentacle. The rest should be fairly self-explanatory from the picture above.

PLACE IN THE SILVER MILLENIUM: Sailorequinox was part of a team of Witch Senshi who all came from the asteroid Icarus, in our solar system. Witchcraft was a very important religion on Icarus, which is why seven people from there were given the powers of the Wiccan holidays. Essentially, they are the protectors of the year, and the protectors of their princess, Princess Icarus (Sailoricarus), and their prince, Prince Icarus (Soldierlammas).

OCCUPATION: Lives and works at the Valhalla Commune, helping to maintain a lovely park of flowers and fountains on Witch Hill.

AGE: 18

GUARDIAN: The Witches are guardianed by a fat raccoon named Rooreru, who thinks he is a cat.

SPIRITUAL STUFF: The Vernal Equinox is March 20-23, and the Autumnal Equinox is September 20-23. These holidays mark the beginning of spring and autumn, respectively. All information on Witchcraft comes from Laurie Cabot's book The Power of the Witch.
