Sailorma'at
Art modified and colored by Laurel.
SENSHI IDENTITY: Sailorma'at, the Senshi of Truth
REAL NAME: She does not have an Earth name at this time.
AMERICAN DUB NAME ^_^ : Sailor Ma'at (Maht, I believe, is the correct pronounciation. It may be Mah-aht.)
SENSHI COLORS: Black and sea green
TEAM: A member of the Underworld Senshi.
WEAPONS AND ATTACKS: Sailorma'at performs the Test of Truth on the newly deceased who have entered the gates of the Underworld and crossed its rivers. The Test of Truth is fairly similar to what is described in the Mythology section below. As to whether or not she will use any of her other powers in this story is unclear at this time. If she does, they will be detailed then. I will say that she has an attack that forces a person to tell the truth whether they want to or not.
DESCRIPTION: Sailorma'at wears the fuku of the senshi of the Re galaxy, which can vary in appearance except for the skirt. They all (except for the males, of course) wear a skirt that is partially open on the sides and hangs down to varying lengths; it is not pleated like the typical senshi skirt. Instead, it hands loose. There is a sash that ties around the waist and hangs overhand down the front of the skirt. The end of this sash is sewn in a point that would point down, of course, when worn properly. Ma'at has dark green hair and sea green eyes. She appears to be about 10 years old. Her hair is very curly and kept up in two ponytails, but her hair is so poofy that it's hard to even see the holders! She also wears a hairband around her head that is made of square copper jewels and has a sea green bow on it; the bow holds two black ostrich plumes crossed over each other. She also has bangs. Ma'at's fuku has a sailor collar, sleeveless halter top, and a short Re galaxy skirt. Her shoes are slippers with straps that connect to fabric that wraps around her calves, and she wears short wrist-length white gloves. The following items on her fuku are sea green: collar, skirt, and calf covers. These items on her fuku are black: tiara jewel, skirt sash, and slippers. Ma'at has a scarab beetle pin that connects her collar to her white halter; it is copper. There are several other places on her fuku that have the square copper jewels; her choker is made of them, the stripe on her collar, a stripe around the wrist part of her gloves, the stripe that lines each edge of her sash, a stripe that lines the top and bottom of her calf covers, and the straps that cross over and connect her slippers to her calf covers are made of them. Ma'at's tiara is also made of copper. Finally, she has the symbol of the Sun god Re on her sash in sea green; it is the Eye of Re.
PLACE IN THE SILVER MILLENIUM: The Underworld Senshi do not have a place in the Silver Millenium because up until a certain time period, they were located in their own galaxy, the galaxy of Re. All of the planets of their galaxy died out and became dead worlds, so they came to Earth to take up the roles of the senshi of the Underworld. They did not come to Earth until after the fall of the Silver Millenium. Because they were not involved in the battle with Metallia, they have been alive for thousands of years (the senshi are immortal as long as nothing comes along to kill them permanently).
OCCUPATION: None; she spends most of her time in the Underworld performing her duties.
AGE: Unknown, though she appears to be about 10.
EXTRA: Ma'at is the child of Sailorre.
MYTHOLOGY: Ma'at (aka Mayet and Maat) was the Egyptian goddess of truth and justice "who stood between illusion and reality, good and evil" and "when she was not honored, chaos came again." (The quotes come from a book about Egyptian mythology for which I do not have the title written down; sorry about that. I'll try to find that title and put it here.) She was the daughter of Re, the king of the Egyptian gods and god of the sun. Ma'at was important to the common people because of the light of truth that she brought to the world (which is much more important to the commoners than those of privilege). The goddess wears an ostrich plume that is weighed against the hearts of the dead, and if the scales come out even, they can pass into the afterlife. Social, religious, and universal order are all top concerns of Ma'at.
