SKILLS/POWERS: Leslie is a champion kickboxer and an excellent marksman. A sixth sense about aliens, developed while studying them, helps her sniff them out when she encounters them.

WEAKNESSES: She is just a regular human being with hardly any experience with the sort of psychic and magical powers that many of the other characters have. Powers like that always catch her off guard. Leslie's sixth sense is very erratic; sometimes she knows she feels something different about a certain person, but can't pinpoint why.

STORY: Leslie's parents divorced when she was ten. Her father is a respected archeologist affiliated with a large college in the south. As a teenager, she went on many expeditions with him in the Caribbean and through various major oceans where they were looking for lost civilizations among the hundreds of uncharted islands (They even found Gilligan. ;D ). This fascination with new civilizations manifested itself in Leslie's future career --a very important position in the SOPI organization.
SOPI is The Search for Outer Planet Intelligence, a highly classified government group that runs in cooperation with NASA. The main headquarters is located in Area 51 in Nevada. They have a faux office in Las Vegas that operates under the front that they are looking for life on the outer planets of our solar system, when actually, they have already found it on Neptune and Pluto. SOPI has offices on all the major continents and in some countries, including Japan, where Leslie currently resides. In the last 170 years, the organization has colonized Neptune and greatly changed their way of life, including their calendar. This sort of activity from the humans, no matter how accidental, is what has made radical gangs like the space pirates of Desert Song so mad. Leslie was hired into the group 10 years ago after a long hard-worked stint in college and graduate shool. So impressive was her drive for knowledge about the culture of Neptune that not only was she promoted within a year, but has been sent to Neptune for field study several times. Leslie is fluent in Neptunian as a result.
Currently Leslie is working on PROJECT PIRATE. The purpose of this study is to find out as much as possible about the dangerous space pirating gang known as Desert Song, and to devise a way to bring the group down. They are desperate to find out their secrets and knowledge of the universe, since Neptunians developed space travel centuries before humankind. Their main objective is to bring down Desert Song from the inside, by capturing and reforming/incarcerating its members, because the gang is seen as a threat to world security.
Currently Leslie is stationed at the SOPI base in Japan because there has been much pirate activity there in the last year.
Leslie has a 7 year old son, Nigel Simmons , with her ex-husband, Link Simmons . (Leslie kept her last name Hadin for professional reasons.) It was a very messy divorce. He used her intense interest in her work to get full custody of their son.

The names of Leslie, Link, and Morgan were lifted from my favorite characters from the old "Danger Island" tv serials, plus a little bit of Leslie's history.
"Danger Island" was created by Hanna-Barbera.
